The Byron Bay community has rallied behind Byron Bay FC, playing their part in almost $40,000 worth of funding.

The money means the Rams can install new LED lights on the main pitch at the Byron Memorial Recreation Grounds.

A total of $39,850 was needed and the Byron Bay community donated almost $10,000 from their own pocket: the remainder being made up through the direct donations including the Byron Shire Council and the club’s major sponsor, the Byron Bay Services Club.

Byron Bay FC thanks the members of the community who contributed funds to this project. The club is excited to announce that the new LED lighting will be installed in time for this year’s Summer Youth League season where the club is aiming to win their third consecutive SYL title.

The LED lighting upgrade is part of a broader infrastructure upgrade program over the next 18 months at Byron Bay FC which will include the redevelopment of the Club House including:

  • Refurbished change rooms for girls, boys, women’s and men’s teams

  • Upgraded canteen facilities

  • A second storey added to club rooms and a viewing balcony
