This Friday night, Byron’s young Rams face what will probably the decisive battle in their quest for a third successive Summer Youth League Championship.

Byron and arch rivals Lismore Workers are both undefeated in this year’s competition and both have ceded one draw. The two leading have fair a margin over the rest of the comp, so Friday night’s winner will emerge as favourite to take out Championship honours for 2012.

Youth development is a primary focus for Byron Bay FC and this year’s Summer Squad has new sponsorship from SAE Institute, a new look strip and lots fresh talent.

Last Friday’s home clash with a talented Richmond Rovers was Byron’s toughest round this season and the see-sawing two all draw provided the large crowd with plenty of action in an exhibition of fast-paced, quality football.

Under coach (and Premiers veteran) Jonathan Pierce, the Byron Squad is coming together as a formidable unit and the workers clash will undoubtedly be the match of the summer season.
