LUCKILY for him, Sam Owens knows a thing or two about overseeing celebrations. The 25-year-old is the toast of his Byron Bay Rams side after scoring both goals in his team's 2-1 Football FNC men's premier division grand final triumph over Lismore Thistles.
Victory at Lismore's Oakes Oval secured the Rams their first flag since 2006 and was the perfect way to mark the club's 50th celebrations.
Owens, who manages the Lala Land nightclub in Byron Bay, said he was looking forward to the post-match festivities.
"I'll be having a drink out of the cup," he said.
"I came to the club after we won our last premiership.
I always wanted to win a senior premiership - I've been waiting a while for this.
"I'm over the moon."
