A goal in the second minute of the final round against Lismore Thistles signalled the Byron squad's determination to take the Summer Youth League Championship title for a third straight year.
An equaliser from Thistles in the fourth minute said Lismore was not going down without a fight.
Still smarting from an upset loss to Italo Stars in the penultimate round, the young Rams needed a win to take home the trophy. With just 2 points between the top four going into the final round, a loss would have seen the Rams drop to fifth in the final tally.
The Byron boys were having none of that, following up with a second goal in the ninth minute and, in an entertaining display of quality football, sealed the championship with another four goals before the full time whistle.
An emphatic 6-1 victory and another notch on the coveted Summer Youth League trophy for coach Jonathan Pierce and the SAE Institute Rams.
