Sam Shepherd of Coorabell and Griffin Bambach of Suffolk Park are great mates on and off the playing field and the boys haven't taken a breather over the summer. With Sam training in the Northern NSW Football Centre of Excellence squad, Griffin has been busy playing Futsal at state and National level. After his FNC 11 years boys team finished third at the state championships in Sydney in November, Griffin travelled to Canberra in January with the Northern NSW 12 boys state team to compete at the Australian Futsal championships. As a reward for their hard work both boys have been selected in the 12 Boys FFNC representative team to compete in the Queensland State Youth League competition in 2011.

Both Griffin and Sam have played for Byron Bay Football Club from a young age and having watched the Byron Bay Rams youth team take out the FFNC Summer Youth League title the boys aspire to one day play in the Club's youth and Premier league teams. With the Premier team already well into training the juniors will be kicking off in the next few weeks with sign-ons starting this Saturday from 9am at the Byron Recreation grounds. Further sign-ons will be held Thursday 17th from 4pm and Saturday the 19th from 9am. The Club welcomes all new and returning players in what promises to be an exciting season of football.
