THE Football Far North Coast Summer Youth League soccer season is approaching the business end of the competition with Byron Bay in the box seat to finish in first position.

The Rams currently sit at the top of the ladder on 21 points after defeating the third-placed Tweed Valley Kings 3-2 over the weekend.

Twelve teams have contested the summer competition which is open to players between the ages of 15-20.

The team with the most points after 11 rounds of matches will win the competition.

The second-placed Lismore Workers (18pts) will struggle to catch up to Byron Bay if they lose to the Kings this weekend.

The final round of the competition will be contested on Friday, December 17.
