off to a good start

Byron's young Rams are off to a good start in their quest to bring home the Summer Youth League Title for the second year running under the guidance of Coach and Premier squad stalwart, Jonno Pierce. The opening match in Casino on October 7 gave a scrappy 2-0 win to Byron. After losing Brad Jones to a red card early in the second half, the Byron youngsters outran a Casino for a convincing win. The scoreline could actually have been much higher, with the 10-man Rams squad hammering the Casino defence right to the whistle.

October 14 saw the Rams take on a much fancied Thistles side at Crozier Oval in Lismore. In what was, at times, a fiery clash, the Byron boys humbled the Lismore side with a decisive 5-2 win.

Once again, the scoreline could have been much higher, with the young Thistles keeper fending of at least 10 good shots on goal in the first half alone.

With good coordination and discipline under fire, the young Rams were by far the superior team.

This Friday night brings the Italo Stars to Byron for the squad's first home game of the series.
