Although the winter soccer season is now done and dusted, the girls in Byron shire won't be hanging up their boots just yet! A variety of programs catering for players of all ages and skill levels are running over the summer to keep the girls kicking.
For the first time ever FFNC are introducing a female summer youth league competition, providing a great opportunity for the shire's rising youth stars to step up to the next level. With Byron Bay, Bangalow and Mullumbimby soccer clubs all entering teams in the competition, our shire is well represented in female participation.
With a view to encouraging girls in the younger age groups as well, an all girls mini-roos training program will be running again at the Byron recreation grounds throughout summer.
The program is aimed at girls from 5 to 11 and caters for both new and experienced players. Coaching is provided by some of the shires best young female players with a focus on fun and skills development.
For those in between the littlies and youth, Byron Bay FC is also running an introductory program for girls aged 12-14 with a focus on fitness, fun and just giving soccer a go. Once they've tried it, they won't look back!
